Week 18: Artist

I had some time today to sit down and fiddle with this google+ and picassa photo uploaders. I finally had some success!

Here is my finished artist page featuring my fascination with Georgia O'Keeffe.

This first picture is the front page with a brochure taped and glued as a flap to the side of my page.

This is the back side of my page where I used patterned card stock to make a pocket for another brochure. I added some paint and tape to the pocket to that everything would match. So far this is the first page in this journal that I have done front and back, but I really needed the room to keep these special items!

Hope ya'll are having a wonderful weekend!

Tonight I was unable to get my photos to upload, so I'm sorry to say, I will be unable to post my completed Georgia O'Keeffe artist page.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Week 18: Artist

WARNING TECHNOLOGY RANT: Skip to second purple paragraph to ignore rant.
I have been trying to post my blog for the past half an hour. Before I can post my blog I need to upload my photos to google plus. I used to upload them straight from my computer to my blog, but I ran out of space and now have to go through other channels. Google thought it would be a good idea to update it's user interface and of course I was surprised to find instructions when I logged on and tried to upload this one freakin picture! I would go to the photos page and click on upload photos then I would click on the screen and iPhoto would come up and I could select the photo, but for what ever reason nothing would load. I tried dragging and dropping but that didn't seam to work, it just opened the picture in a web page or so I thought. I tried clicking and dragging again and finally it worked, but it came up like a web page again, but as soon as I clicked the back button it was loaded into my photos. I will see how this goes tomorrow, it just seems like it's more work to get a photo here. I know technology changes, but really shouldn't you at least have user trials and get feedback before changing stuff? This is why I'm not on facebook so much anymore....so many changes and profile settings....GEEEEZZZZZ.

Okay onto the art. Tonight I painted my two small flowers with more black lines in the petals and on the bottom most flower I added white gel pen over top the black paint. I think I will leave the flowers like they are, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to resist the temptation not to add something to the big flower.

Hope you all are having a wonderful evening time for me to vegg...

Week 18: Artist

I worked on my page a bit more tonight and really like how it is turning out. I've added some flowers to the back ground using black acrylic paint.

Then today I got a little something from my friend Linda and it is hilarious!

Tonight my husband and I enjoyed an evening at the beach.

*Sigh* I am so blessed!
I hope you all are having a good start to the week!

Week 18: Artist

This week my challenge is to create a page that focuses on an artist that inspires you. For me it is Georgia O'Keeffe. I learned a lot about her in high school and when I went to Santa Fe I visited the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum and was re-inspired by what I found. Georgia O'Keeffe in my opinion was a pioneer female artist. She would camp out in the middle of no where to get her inspiration from nature and landscape. Not many women did that in her time and now I think there are even less people that do that.

The colors I chose for the background represent the sky, the earth, and other colors found in nature. I have a brochure from the museum I am planning to add to the page, but I'm not sure how yet.

Week 17: Dress Up Completed

I know I didn't post anything last night, but let me tell you this page is worth the wait!

I gave her a bunch of bling...a bracelet, necklace, earrings, and even some bling on her belt and her hat. I also added red beaded stars that have sequins in the middle (the sequins are hard to see). I also outlined her with a dark purple paint which makes her whole look all that much more interesting. I hope you have enjoyed this weeks page!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Week 17: Dress Up

Here is an update to my dress up page.

I gave her some accessories...a new designer clutch bag, a scarlet red ribbon for a chic belt, and a hat with feathery plumage to bring your eyes back to her face.

Before I glued her to my page I outlined her and then painted around the outline with blue and then again with a darker purply blue. I have one more color to add to this blue mixture. I am also going to give her some awesome bling jewelry. This dress up fashion girl needs some Fendi!!!
